Holiday Weak ends

Hey Now, get this, I have had some work done on my house, new closets with built-ins so I did a bit of house cleaning and threw away some stuff and when I took out the trash last night I noticed that my garbage had been stolen. Yep, the night before I had asked my son, Tree, to clean out a closet that was filled with old basketballs. I took armloads of basketballs to the curb the prior night and last night when I took out the kitchen trash they were gone. EVERYTHING was....

OOOOOH, AHHH, a nice long weekend for me. What to do? besides getting new treads for the Hybrid? Definately a shore forecast which means time to get out on the new boat, so time on the salt water and then time to slow down on the cedar lake in the kayak without a motor... and maybe some..... Skinny dipping?. Whatever you do ~ have fun and Be Safe!

Shout Out

Hairspray was wonderful. NYC was great. Hey it is Friday ~ SHOUT OUT! Whoo Hoo! I have found a website that I love. I think I should share it with you. I don't have it on my blog roll for some lazy reason as this is my busy season at work but yet I manage to peak over there all the time. It is called hiding under the covers :) and as the writer explains "Welcome to my World of "WTF?"! enjoy links of funny videos and random interesting sites." I suggest you go over there and check it out. She posts interesting & funny stuff on this site. Now you know where I spend my day....Also a shout out to the film An Inconvenient Truth It is A MUST SEE. Let me know your opinions after you see this interesting film. And for fun for those of us from the Vegetable State try this: How New Jersey Are You? My answer for number 19 believe it or not is NO. It is illegal in New Jersey! I used to do it as a youngster but now I forget...
On the road tonight and tomorrow, company picnic on Sunday, which of course means RAIN for the weekend. Have a safe one all!

Hump DAY in the Apple

I am not going to be at work tomorrow. I will be playing 'hooky'. The school year has finally ended. And as some of you know I am a huge fan of musicals. I love shows. My parents took me as a toddler to Broadway and Radio City Music Hall. I have not seen the Tony Award winning Jersey Boys (on the agenda) but tomorrow I am meeting friends in the Big Apple and with our daughters we are going to see the show Hairspray. There are clips from the show on the site and music so you can check out what I am going to be enjoying tomorrow. A musical and lunch with friends and the sweltering city, what more can one ask for? I am so looking forward to tomorrow!

Enjoy the sunshine. If you need to cool off, you can check this out. It is more interesting than March of the Penquins. Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

I eat mine "wit"

English Only at Philly Cheesesteak Joint
By PATRICK WALTERS, Associated Press Writer

An English-only ordering policy has thrust one of Philadelphia's best-known cheesesteak joints into the national immigration debate.
Situated in a South Philadelphia immigrant neighborhood, Geno's which together with its chief rival, Pat's King of Steaks, forms the epicenter of an area described as "ground zero for cheesesteaks" has posted small signs telling customers, "This Is AMERICA: WHEN ORDERING SPEAK ENGLISH.'"
"They don't know how lucky they are. All we're asking them to do is learn the English language," said Geno's owner Joseph Vento, 66. "We're out to help these people, but they've got to help themselves, too."
Says Meryl Levitz, president and chief executive of the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. "This isn't representative of the Philadelphia attitude."

Maybe my former neighborhood IS representative of the 'Philadelphia attitude'. The signs hanging in the Italian Market area read "Shoplifters will be Shot"....noone has ever commented on them.
and with that I am off on the run for the weekend ~ have a safe one all!
